Bjorn Hammerhand, Dwarven Rogue of the Syndicate

The information of the character I am currently playing is below, I have outlined some of his character motivations and traits as the first few sessions have helped acclimate his story;

Name: Bjorn Hammerhand
Class: Rogue
Race: Dwarf
Personality:
Grim. Stern. Focused. Bjorn had spent much of his life as a sell-sword, clearing out tunnels and caves in Dwarven and Gnomish territories. He is methodological and short with others, Speaking in short, terse sentences.
Bjorn is known to be focused on what he was hired for, but will deviate from the terms of contracts if it means lining his own pockets.
Distrust of spell-casters and some magic.
Hatred of Orcs and Undead.
Appearance:
Pale, possessing a large scarred body that is stocky and strong. He has a dark red and slightly graying chest-length braided beard and dark eyes.
He almost exclusively wears dark studded leather armor with leather and cloth wraps as bracers, heavy utilitarian pants, well worn leather boots, and a fur lined hooded gray cloak.
He always wears his Orcish Dagger on his belt as a trophy and reminder.
Background:
Born into the Hammerhand clan, Bjorn was originally intended to become a mason but found a life of adventuring in the caves around his ancestral home more enjoyable. As he grew older, he began to stop playing in the caves and offered up his services as a mercenary with several other of his clan mates. The jobs were basic, escorting wagons on the surface or clearing out the occasional Orc or Goblin camp that had made it underground.

However in one notable campaign; Bjorn was once combating an encampment of Orcs with a seasoned party and after successfully purging them, his party had stopped to loot the campsite. As he and his fellow clansman Byork were picking over corpses away from their equipment a sudden onslaught of undead appeared and charged into the camp, laying waste to the surprised Dwarvish party, many of whom had never fought the undead.
Lacking access to his equipment and having to abandon it due to the sudden surge of undead, Bjorn took a dagger off of one of the nearby Orcs and fought his way out the tunnel with few other survivors. From that day forward, Bjorn has worn the Orc Dagger as a trophy of his battle and for having survived where so many in his company had fallen.

After working as a mercenary a while longer, Bjorn had stumbled upon a wondrous Mace deep within the ground. This mace was an exceptionally powerful magical relic and sapped Bjorns free will. The flaming masterful mace was created as a sentient weapon of war by a long ancient Dwarven smith and contained a single minded focus to eliminate the followers and destroy the cults of an ancient Evil.

After the possession Bjorn wandered the lands fighting the followers of the ancient Evil. He attacked and attacked and attacked any refuge for the cultists he could find. However, so powerful was the weapons desire for murder that it ignored the damage to his body fully during fights. At deaths door due to the effects of the weapon casting him into the elements bloodied and beaten; a member of the massive criminal  Syndicate broke the control of the mace and ferried it away. Feeling he owed a great debt to the person who saved him, Bjorn joined the Syndicate and became a rogue thug, fighting and stealing in equal measure for the group in order to pay back what he felt was a life debt.

However, he has grown disillusioned with the life the Syndicate has foisted upon him and hates the leadership of the organization. His dream is to accrue enough power, connections and men to form his own enterprise, The Hammerfall, and break the Syndicates hold on the land once and for all.
